From the Top 22 December 2008
Well here I am again. Sorry about not keeping up with the correspondence. This has been a busy Summer for me. No excuse, I realize everyone has that from time to time.
Today, old man Winter blew in with a blast of cold air. The storm over the weekend missed us. We had a littlesleet, freezing rain and some icing. We were on the warm side of the system. Today all the cold air from the North slid down the globe last night and we woke up to 14 degrees and at 1:00 PM today it was 17 degrees with a brisk wind. I didn't look up the wind chill. That is cold enough. Time to break out the thermal underwear. Other locations are worse off, so can't really complain. The electricity hasn't failed, so we shall survive.
I have only one comment about the current state of the world economy. There is probably too much blame to pass around and point fingers at the problems and come to any one solution. Guys like me grew up during the depression. We bartered and traded labor to survive. If we hadn't fought WWII the depression would have still been around in 1950. My solution: No handouts (bail out). New Plan: I pay my debts, you pay yours!
So much for the gloom and doom. Enjoy life, try to stay healthy, and be a friend to man. I wish everyone a "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"
Take care,
Roy (22 Dec 08)
