West Virginia May 2008

 Stew Koontz dropped Nhan off at my place here in West "By Gawd" Virginia after the Rolling Thunder Ride so he could return with his truck to take Nhan back with his luggage.  Nhan and I were up till 0230 or somewhere about sipping my "Rhumatiz Medicine and watching "Scooby Doo" DVDs. 

 About 4 hours later when we woke up as we were drinking our coffee and tea is when we noticed that my neighbors cattle had got out and grazing in my back yard. popped off a few rounds from a .22 pistol to scare them back to their own grazing grounds.

 That's when Nhan and I saw a VC Rabbit trying to infiltarte my garden. I handed Nhan my Colt Woodsmanm Target Version and he LRRP'd to within 25 yards of the VC Rabbit. Gripping the Colt with his thumb and small finger, he aimed and pulled the trigger with his ring finger. Pow, one shot ,one kill.  One less VC Rabbit to raid my garden.  I gutted and skinned it and that night Nhan cooked up the Vietnamese version of hassenpheffer. Yum, Yum.

  Two of the pictures are of Nhan with the VC Rabbit, the 3rd is Nhan shooting a 50 cal Flintlock "Boxlock" pistol I built from scratch. You can see the cloud of smoke from the priming over Nhan's head, but I missed the bogger cloud that came out the muzzle. It was till to. early in the year for that big VC Turtle in my pond so I guess I'll just have to take care of it on my own.
