Attached is the E Company article for the next issue of "Patrolling." I'm sending it in advance by email because by the time the magazine is printed, I'm afraid there might not be rooms at the Days Inn in Dahlonega. Mac has arranged for some excellent rates (single kings are $51 for May 26-27 and $58.00 for May 28-29. Doubles are $55 and $63, all plus tax.) If you plan on being there for the Fallen Ranger Ceremony, be sure to mention E-50 LRRP for the special rates (706-864-2338.) As Mac said in his email sent out earlier this month, "Don't procrastinate" as the rooms will fill up fast.
I have asked Mac if he would send out a similar email about the reunion in Santa Fe May 2-9 so look for that in the near future.
As I mentioned in the article, I could not be prouder of the way E Company responded when it was learned that Bao was in the hospital with severe internal bleeding. Nhan reports that the operation went well and that Bao is recovering nicely. Closer to home, we have had some E Company Rangers with health problems of their own and you all are in our thoughts and prayers. Get well so you can make our reunions in May.
Hope everyone is making it through a difficult winter with lots of snow and ice. I heard where at one point every state in the union had snow, except Hawaii. And then in Vancouver, Canada where they wanted snow for the Winter Olympics, there was not enough. One thing we know for sure is there should be no snow when E Company gathers in Santa Fe, NM and Dahlonega, Georgia. And for those who like to do long range planning (we would expect nothing less from members of a long range patrol) when we gather in Buffalo, New York next year, it will not be in the winter. Buffalo can set records for snowfall, but Barley can verify that it is a beautiful place in the spring and summer. Until next time,
Rangers Lead the Way.

I hope our unit members who live in the DC area have dug out from the snowstorms that hit them in February. Bob Wallace is one of them and he is also one of the unit's published authors. His latest book is "Spycraft," a look at the secret history of the CIA's spytechs. The book can be ordered from Bob, signed and shipped; hardback, $30.00; paperback $18.00: Bob Wallace, 2640 Wild Cherry Place, Reston, VA 20191.
When the blizzards shut down Washington for several days, sentinels from the Army's Old Guard were still walking their beat 24/7 in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington. Now that's dedication. Those guys would make good Rangers.
